So why would you want to grow Loofah ?

The immature gourds can be eaten raw or cooked like summer squash.

They are also useful around the house. Once they are too mature to be eaten you can leave them on the plant for the fibres to grow.

Once they’re ready you can peel off the skin wash away any remaining soft flesh and use the fibrous inner as a shower/bath sponge, you can even make your own loofah soap bars and exfoliate as you wash!

A lot of our customers are conscious about the environment and like to use them in place of traditional washing up sponges and for general cleaning around the house and garden.
